Wilms Tumour(Cancer of the Kidney)
Leighasha was the first born to Donna Henry and Fitzroy Davis.
A beautiful and well mannered child who loved life. Just after her 11th birthday Leighasha was diagnosed with a Wilms Tumour(cancer of the kidney). We were all devastated and in a state of shock.. Leighasha was a fighter and never gave up. She was admitted to The Middlesex Hospital were she was put on 7wks of Chemo to shrink the tumour, but instead the tumour was getting bigger.. She was later admitted to Great Ormond Street Hospital where she had surgery.. 6 hours later 3 adults lifted the tumour out of her tummy..
She was given another 36wks of Chemo and 4wks of Radiotherapy.. But it was to late the tumour was too advanced..
Leighasha was diagnosed terminal in February 2003 and from then on we allowed Leigh to follow her dreams..
In July 2003 Leigh was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she stayed..
On the morning of 2nd November 2003 at 6am Leighasha asked her uncle Ian to push her around the Hospital grounds. They returned to the room where Leighasha decided to have a sleep. He uncle Ian told her how much he loved her and she nodded her head in acceptance. At 9.30 Leighasha opened her eyes looked into the corner of her room as if she were being called.. She took three breaths and passed away very peacefully..
